Real Life Horror Story from India

"This happened about a month or two ago near Lonavala, and even though it sounds like something out of the X Files or the Twilight Zone...it actually happened! This guy drives from Mumbai to Pune and decides not to take the new expressway as he wants to see the scenery. The inevitable happens and when he reaches the ghats his car breaks down - he's stranded miles from nowhere. Having no choice he starts walking on the side of the road, hoping to get a lift to the nearest human habitation. It's dark and raining and pretty soon he's wet and shivering. The night rolls on and no car goes by, the monsoon rains are so strong he can hardly see a few feet ahead of him. Suddenly in the midst of pitch black night he barely makes out a car just a few feet away, coming towards him with its headlights out. The strange vehicle stops next to him. The guy is SO relieved to see another human soul that he immediately flings open the car's door and jumps in without a second thought. Seated in the back, he leans forward to thank the person who had saved him when he realizes there is nobody behind the wheel! Even though there's no one in the front seat and no sound of any engine, the car starts moving slowly. The guy looks at the road ahead and sees a curve coming the hills and there is a steep drop beyond the curve). Scared almost to death he starts to pray, begging the Lord for his life. He hasn't come out of shock, when just before he hits the curve, a hand appears through the window and moves the wheel! The car makes the curve safely and continues on the road to the next bend. The guy, now paralyzed in terror, watches how the hand appears every time the car is at a curve and moves the steering wheel just enough to get it around each bend. Finally, the guy sees lights ahead. Gathering his courage he wrenches open the door of then silent, slowly moving car, scrambles out and runs as hard as he can towards the lights. It's a small town. Wet and in shock goes to a roadside dhabba, which is open, and asks for a drink. They find some hooch and give him a shot. And he starts telling whoever is in the dhabba about the horrifying experience he just went through. A silence envelops everybody when they realize the guy isn't drunk, and is really frightened - he's crying and shaking. So they give him more hooch and talk about what they should do, whether to call the police or find a priest, or what. But just then two tired looking men walk into the dhabba. One excitedly points a finger and says to his friend "Look Raj! That's the asshole that got in the car when we were pushing it..."

Why didn't the guy in the car just jump in to the driver's seat and steer? Also, how did a hand appear when they were just pushing the car?

Um, the guy in the car couldn't see an inch in front of him because of the monsoon rains, so when he jumped in the car and it started moving unexpectedly he was shocked. He might have been "too shocked" to try and steer the car himself, even when the car approached the dangerous curves.

As far as the hand, two guys were pushing the car. the driver side window was probably open and the guy pushing the car on the driver's side moved the steering wheel.

What i wonder is how could a man sit in the back seat of a car and not know someone was pushing it? Hard rain or not, that's just strange.

Man shuttup. It may be old to you, but it resurfaced here so therefore an old story becomes news to those who haven't heard it. It's so annoying when people say "This is news, this is old shit" Blah blah blah, so what?
